The ON-LINE abstract submission is a simple three-step process. After reading the abstract submission instructions follow these steps:

Step 1 -
complete the on-line submittal form below.

Step 2 -
email your one page abstract as a file attachment to abstracts@wsaua.org. Your abstract should be created in a Word document or other PC compatible format.

Step 3 -
download, complete and fax back your disclosure form to (714) 550-9234.

**DVD Submission Instructions**

1) Send DVD's to Western Section AUA, 1950 Old Tustin Avenue, Santa Ana, CA 92705 by June 16, 2008
2) One page abstract must still be submitted as well by June 16, 2008 - use on-line submittal form
3) DVD submissions should be 8-10 minutes in length
4) Presenters must submit a disclosure form due by June 16, 2008
5) Presenters may take their DVD home after their presentation
6) The DVD program is scheduled for Sunday, October 26, 2008

Abstract Preparation: Please carefully read the instructions that follow after the Step 3 box below.  Abstracts not prepared correctly will not be considered by the Program Committee.

Abstract Evaluation: The Program Committee will only evaluate application forms containing an informative abstract. Please do not submit supplemental material for review by the Committee. Please do not send your abstract by FAX. 

Scheduling of Abstract on Program: The Program Committee will schedule certain clinical and research papers for poster sessions. Authors whose applications are accepted for posters will receive specific instructions when they are notified of their papers' acceptance. All abstracts submitted in conformity with the rules will, if accepted, be incorporated into either the podium sessions or poster sessions whose makeup will be controlled, as much as possible, by the author's selection of method and topic.  The final decision, however, will rest with the Program Committee. You will be notified of your abstract acceptance by mail.

Abstract Reproduction: All abstracts submitted for the meeting become the property of the Western Section AUA and will be reproduced in the program exactly as submitted. It is the author's responsibility to submit abstracts in perfect order with no errors in spelling or grammar. 

Also indicate one topic of choice: Adrenal, Bladder/Urethra, Calculi, Neurourology, Kidney, Pediatrics, Andrology, Incontinence/Pelvic Floor, Prostate, Testis, Ureter, or How I Do It.

Indicate one of the following presentation options: Podium or Poster, Poster Only, Round Table, DVD, or Essay Contest.

FOR NON-MEMBERS: Abstract submission by Non-members must be sponsored by a Member of the WSAUA or of the AUA. Please provide the name and phone number of the sponsor in your submittal.

 

ABSTRACT  PREPARATION  INSTRUCTIONS

1. Please type the title of paper in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS.

2. Use first names, middle initials, last names and degrees of all authors, listing the principle author first.  If any author is not a member of the Section or AUA, place an asterisk (*) after his/her name.  List city and state or origin, but not the institution. 

3. After listing city and state or origin:  "Presentation to be made by Dr.__________________."

4. In your Word document: type single space on one page of text and double space between paragraphs. Use 1 inch margins for top/bottom and right/left. If using provided form, type as closely as possible inside rectangle box. Type within rectangle only.

5. The abstract should be informative and detailed.  It must contain: (a) a statement of the study's objectives;  (b) a statement of methods, if pertinent; (c) a summary of the results  obtained; (d) a statement of the conclusions.  It is NOT acceptable merely  to state that "the results will be discussed."
