| Objectives: 1) Describe the role of caloric intake on stone risk in
females and be able to discern the possible new role of animal models for
determining stone pathogenesis. 2) Appraise treatments for calculi, including
medical expulsive therapies and the new generation of hand-held lithotrites
and their relative merits and differing efficiencies. 3) Recognize the
changing nature of stone treatments over the past decade and assess the
radiation risks of CT evaluation and different CT techniques. |
